Ann Porath, Esq.
Attorney Ann Porath is a partner in the firm of Porath & Barbuto, P.A., located in Wellington, Florida. For the past 27 years, Mrs. Porath has concentrated her practice as a general practitioner, with a primary emphasis in the areas of marital and family law, wills & trusts, probate, and guardianship. Mrs. Porath is the first lawyer to practice law full time in Wellington, Florida and has been serving the Western Community in Palm Beach County since 1984.
Mrs. Porath, while a native of Wisconsin, has been a Florida resident since 1964 and a resident of Wellington since 1984. She and her husband, Peter Porath, have five children and ten grandchildren.
Mrs. Porath received her Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, and her Juris Doctor degree, from Nova Southeastern University . She was admitted to practice law in the State of Florida in 1984. Mrs. Porath is also a graduate of St. Agnes School of Nursing where she became a Registered Nurse.
Anthony M. Barbuto, Esq.
Attorney Anthony M. Barbuto is a partner in the firm of Porath & Barbuto, P.A., located in Wellington, Florida. His primary areas of practice include marital and family law, wills & trusts, probate administration, litigation, personal injury, and equine law.
Mr. Barbuto received his Bachelor's degree, cum laude, from Bard College at Simon's Rock in 2000, where he majored in literature and minored in psychology. Mr. Barbuto also received his Juris Doctor degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2004, where he competed in Moot Court and practiced family law in tribal court for the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma, dealing with such issues as divorce and domestic violence. During law school, Mr. Barbuto was a member of the Moot Court Society, along with the international honors legal fraternity, Phi Delta Phi.
Prior to joining Porath & Barbuto, P.A., Mr. Barbuto practiced law in an insurance defense firm in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, defending such cases involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, construction defect, and slip and falls. Mr. Barbuto also clerked for a securities fraud class action firm in San Diego, CA, working closely with lead plaintiffs on high profile cases, including the Halliburton securities litigation.
Mr. Barbuto is currently admitted to the state bars of Florida, California and New Jersey.
Craig J. Pohlmann, Esq.
Attorney Craig J. Pohlmann is an associate attorney with Porath & Barbuto, and practices solely in the areas of marital and family law. His educational and professional experience encompasses marital and family law including divorce, modifications paternity, adoptions and children's issues.
Mr. Pohlmann received his Juris Doctor degree from St. Johns University School of Law, where he was a Recipient of the CALI Award for Academic Excellence in Family Law and the Winner of the Nathan Burkan Writing Competition on Copyright Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Lafayette College, where he majored in Government and Law and minored in Finance, and received his Masters of Business Administration from the Lubin Graduate School of Business at Pace University.
Mr. Pohlmann is licensed to practice law in Florida and Minnesota and is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator and a Florida Certified Guardian Ad Litem. In addition to his legal certifications, he is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Florida and New York and is certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and as a Financial Forensic Analyst by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (CFFA).
Prior to joining Porath & Barbuto, P.A., Mr. Pohlmann worked at several private family law firms located in both Broward and Palm Beach Counties, and as an auditor for Deloitte and Touche in Stamford, Connecticut. Mr. Pohlmann has participated in numerous CLE's presented by the Florida Bar's including the Trial Advocacy Clinic and Palm Beach County Bar Association's "Practical Aspects of Conducting Family Law Trials." Mr. Pohlmann has also volunteered his time representing pro bono clients in Palm Beach, Broward and Dade Counties, as well as Guardian Ad Litem advocating for the best interests of children in court-appointed matters.
Mr. Pohlmann is currently on the Nova Southeastern University Paralegal Advisory Board and serves as an alumni admissions representative for Lafayette College in the South Florida region. He has undertaken several speaking engagements including at the FUI Paralegal Program as well as at "Second Saturday: 'What Women Need to Know About Divorce.'" Mr. Pohlmann is a past member of The Craig S. Barnard American Inn of Court, and serves on several committees within the Florida Bar and the Palm Beach County Bar Association.
